Neal & McDevitt LLC is proud to announce that the International Trademark Association (INTA) honored Richard B. Biagi of Park Ridge  with the Volunteer Service Award (VSA) in the ProBono Services Provided by Individuals category. INTA is a member-based organization that supports and advances trademarks and related intellectual property as elements of fair and effective global commerce.

The VSAs recognize individuals who provide exemplary volunteer service to INTA during the past year. Biagi made a tremendous impact by volunteering both his time and expertise to support the Association's goals and objectives as outlined in the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan.

Biagi has counseled numerous not-for-profit organizations on a pro bono basis including Bugles Across America, a nonprofit that provides volunteers to play at veterans' funerals. Most recently, when BAA became involved in a trademark and domain name dispute, his efforts resulted in the swift relinquishment of offending domain names and a stop to continued trademark infringement by a would-be "competitor."

"Our volunteers are a crucial element in achieving our mission to advance the protection of trademarks around the world," said Alan C. Drewsen, INTA Executive Director. "On behalf of INTA and more than 5,900 brand owners across the globe, I'd like to thank Mr. Biagi for his hard work and determination."

Biagi accepted the award Nov. 8 at an Awards Ceremony at INTA's Annual Leadership Meeting in Orlando, FL.
