Cabbie Stabbed In Park Ridge Armed Robbery

He had serious injuries. It happened near Elm and Wisner Wednesday at 9:38 pm, and the assailant fled on foot. Police are looking for information.

 

 

Park Ridge police released the following statement Thursday afternoon: 

Detectives from the Park Ridge Police Department are investigating an armed robbery which occurred on Wednesday, August 22 at approximately 9:38 p.m. At that time, police officers responded to the area of Elm and Wisner and learned that a cab driver had been stabbed and robbed by his fare while en route to O’Hare airport. The driver, a 42-year-old Chicago Ridge man, sustained non-life threatening, but serious, injuries and was transported to Lutheran General Hospital from the scene.

The suspect fled on foot and is described as a male, white, possibly between 5’5" and 5’7" tall, weighing 150 to 170 pounds. He was seen wearing a dark colored shirt and khaki shorts. The suspect was last seen running westbound from the scene. Anyone having information on this robbery should call the Park Ridge Police Department at (847) 318-5252.
