Park Ridge Blotter: Aggravated Battery, GTA
The following arrest information was supplied by the Park Ridge Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A man walking home was attacked and beaten with a baseball bat in the 1200 block of Prospect Road on Dec. 6 around 12 a.m. According to police, the victim was cutting through an alley when two suspects asked him why he was in the alley. The victim fled and both suspects chased after him, the report stated. When they caught up to him, he was kicked, punched and struck with a baseball bat. It is unclear why the suspects attacked the man.
The victim told police that none of his belongings were stolen. The first suspect was described as a black male, about 20 years of age, 6-foot-5, 190-pounds with a goatee and wearing a brown hoodie with blue jeans, police said. The second culprit was described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-11, 145-pounds, wearing a black cap, black hoodie and jeans. No arrests were made.
Electronics, jewelry stolen in burglary
Several laptops, a digital camera and lenses and jewelry were reported stolen from a home in the 1700 block of Elliot Street on Nov. 6. According to the report, the suspect(s) gained entry by prying open the door.
A laptop was reported stolen from a car parked in the 500 block of Rose Avenue on Nov. 29. The victim told police that he left his vehicle unlocked, the report stated.
Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 800 block of Busse Highway on Nov. 29. According to the report, an unknown symbol was spray painted on the side of a building.
More symbols were reported spray painted but at a different location in the 600 block of Busse Highway on Dec. 3.
Stolen police star
A man report his wallet, retired police star and several credit cards stolen on Nov. 30. The victim's wallet was inside a coat which was hung freely at a business in the 1600 block of Dempster Street, the report said.
Stolen Christmas decorations
A box of miscellaneous Christmas decorations were reported stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Elliot Street on Dec. 4.
Excellent role model
A woman shopping with her two children removed a purse and bracelet from a store and left without paying on Dec. 1. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Northwest Highway. No arrests were made.
Stolen credit cards
A woman reported several of her credit cards stolen after visiting a hospital in the 1700 block of Dempster Street on Dec. 5.
A 2002 Infiniti sedan was reported stolen from the 2000 block of Parkside Drive on Nov. 30.
