Park Ridge Blotter: Stolen Auto
The following arrest information was supplied by the Park Ridge Police Department.
Police responded to an attempted ruse burglary in the 900 block of N. Prospect Avenue on Dec. 8. According to the report, an unknown male rang the victim’s doorbell, and when the victim answered the suspect walked into the house claiming to be doing electrical work on the side of her house and needed to check the power.
The subject then instructed her to turn on the television and lights, the report stated. However, the victim insisted that the subject leave and when he did she would later notice open drawers throughout her house. Nothing appeared to be missing. Subject described as a male with olive skin, 5’08” tall, glasses and a black hat, police said.
Police responded to a burglary in the 100 block of S. Northwest Highway on Dec. 7. According to the report, the suspect(s) used brute force to gain entry into the building and crack a safe.
Electronics missing in home burglary
Police responded to a burglary in the 900 block of Austin Avenue on Dec. 11. According to the report, the suspect(s) gained entry into the garage and removed multiple electronics and cash from two unlocked vehicles.
Theft to auto
An iPod was reported stolen from a car parked in the 1200 block of S. Fairview Avenue on Dec. 11.
A car parked in the 1100 block of Prairie Street was reported vandalized on Dec. 12. According to the report, the front and rear tires were slashed.
Wooden fence damaged
A wooden fence in the 1400 block of W. Garden Street was reported damaged on Dec. 12.
A man reported his laptop missing after visiting a hospital in the 1700 block of Dempster Street on Dec. 6.
A woman reported her wallet stolen while shopping in the 1900 block of Cumberland Road on Dec. 6. The woman told police she left her purse in the seat of the shopping cart.
A 2004 Audi sedan was reported stolen from the 1300 block of S. Crescent Lane on Dec. 8. According to the report, the victim left his keys in the ignition.
