Maine Township Hosts National Night Out at Dee Park

Trustee Susan Moylan Krey, organizer of Maine Township’s National Night Out Against Crime (NNO), has invited all residents and families to attend the event which is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.  Designed to promote family fun and neighborhood unity, NNO also educates residents on crime prevention and safety.

Sponsored by Maine Township, Neighborhood Watch, Cook County Sheriff’s Police, Golf Maine Park District, North Maine Fire District and other community businesses, the event will be held at Dee Park, 9229 Emerson, in unincorporated Maine Township.  The event will feature performances by local talent, games, prizes, raffles and a poster contest.

Including demonstrations and information from Cook Country Sheriff’s Police, North Maine Fire District, and Maine Township Office of Emergency Management, the night will conclude with the distribution of glow necklaces to show community support against crime. The night ends with a “Lighting The Way Against Crime” observance which will prove popular with the whole family.
