Maine Township Supervisor Declares Candidacy for Committeeman

Maine Township Supervisor Carol A. Teschky has formally announced her candidacy for Maine Township Republican Committeeman.  Supervisor Teschky made her decision to run for the position after current GOP Committeeman Rosemary Mulligan announced her intention to not seek re-election in the Republican Primary to be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

Teschky brings a long and distinguished record of Republican leadership to the race.  As an elected official, she has served as Maine Township’s Supervisor since 2007 having been re-elected twice in 2009 and 2013 respectively.  Previous to Supervisor, she served as a Township Trustee beginning in 1989 and up to her selection as Supervisor in 2007.  Her strong fiscal record of leadership on the township board includes producing balanced budgets every year, cutting the township tax levy by 25% and maintaining zero debt for the township.  Also, Teschky currently serves as President of the Township Officials of Cook County.

For the past 30 years, she has served as a precinct captain in the Maine Township Republican Party and has held several leadership positions including Committeewoman, President and Area Chairman.  She’s been an active member for over 30 years and a Past President in the Maine Township Republican Women’s Club as well as a member of the Park Ridge Republican Women’s Club for more than 20 years.

In 2002, she was recognized as ‘GOP Woman of the Year’ by the Maine Township Republican Women’s Club.  Teschky's candidacy for Committeeman has already received widespread support from a host of elected officials and local leaders.

Carol Teschky and her husband, John, have been residents of Maine Township’s Glenview area for the past 45 years.  Together, they have three grown children and three grandchildren.
