Maine Township Supervisor Carol A. Teschky has formally announced her candidacy for Maine Township Republican Committeeman.  Supervisor Teschky made her decision to run for the position after current GOP Committeeman Rosemary Mulligan announced her intention to not seek re-election in the Republican Primary to be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

Teschky brings a long and distinguished record of Republican leadership to the race.  As an elected official, she has served as Maine Township’s Supervisor since 2007 having been re-elected twice in 2009 and 2013 respectively.  Previous to Supervisor, she served as a Township Trustee beginning in 1989 and up to her selection as Supervisor in 2007.  Her strong fiscal record of leadership on the township board includes producing balanced budgets every year, cutting the township tax levy by 25% and maintaining zero debt for the township.  Also, Teschky currently serves as President of the Township Officials of Cook County.

For the past 30 years, she has served as a precinct captain in the Maine Township Republican Party and has held several leadership positions including Committeewoman, President and Area Chairman.  She’s been an active member for over 30 years and a Past President in the Maine Township Republican Women’s Club as well as a member of the Park Ridge Republican Women’s Club for more than 20 years.

In 2002, she was recognized as ‘GOP Woman of the Year’ by the Maine Township Republican Women’s Club.  Teschky's candidacy for Committeeman has already received widespread support from a host of elected officials and local leaders.

Those supporting her candidacy to date include:

§    Maine Township Clerk Gary K. Warner, Park Ridge

§    Maine Township Assessor Tom Rueckert, Glenview

“As Committeeman, I will focus my efforts on leading a Republican Party that will be inclusive and broad-based in both its membership and activities.  I will also continue to champion strong fiscal policies for all levels of government and promote initiatives that will help strengthen our economy and create jobs,” stated Supervisor Carol Teschky.

Carol Teschky and her husband, John, have been residents of Maine Township’s Glenview area for the past 45 years.  Together, they have three grown children and three grandchildren.

Don't you have to be a Republican to be a "Republican Committdeman." What a joke to our district and township. Almost the whole list above are examples of what we have to STOP in politics. I hope a real Republican with fiscal values steps up to run against this fraud. How many government pensions are tied to the above????

Carol, why am I on this list of supporters. I never stated who I will support, and until I do I would appreciate that my name not be used. Not a good start to a campaign. Brian Burkross - Des Plaines

I guess when you fill your pockets with tax payers funds..which includes 1. 12% pay raise, 2. A hefty pension, 3. A great health care plan - then you can say that you are a robber. Now Carol believe's that she rates this seat! Where's Sweeney when you need her ?
Gene August 10, 2013 at 10:12 PM
Can someone please tell Mr. Barton to please help the community and retire...his mouth. Thank you.
Gene August 10, 2013 at 10:17 PM
Do we smell another Sweeney attack plan ?

So Gene, from your comment it sounds like you are against the constitutional right of free speech and perhaps even the process of democratic elections. Interesting.

Hmmm...Jerry....how do Gene's comments communicate those points of view? It sounds like he's questioning Barton's and Teschky's competency, not their rights to speak up or run for office. What am I missing?
Regular Guy August 13, 2013 at 05:58 PM
Seems obvious that when someone tells other to retire their mouth that it means stop speaking. Where did you go to school?
BMG Media Services August 13, 2013 at 06:08 PM
Okay, okay everyone. Let's relax. Regardless of what Gene "Whomever" says, I have a right to speak as much as he does and his defenders. The original posting was a news announcement of a sitting elected official with 25+ years in office -- all of them as a Republican -- declaring her candidacy for another elected office. It is all part of the democratic process.
Park Ridge Taxpayer August 13, 2013 at 06:12 PM
So Jerry Lang is now Park Ridge Citizen? Gene has the right to tell Dick to "retire his mouth", but he is not questioning Dick's right to make that decision himself. Dick may keep right on blathering all he wants. I don't see anyone seeking to change a constitutional right. Where did YOU go to school?
Park Ridge Taxpayer August 13, 2013 at 06:37 PM
Thank you, Dick, and I absolutely agree.

How many of the Maine Township council actually live there?
Park Ridge AV August 15, 2013 at 11:52 AM
"Democratically" elected??? Yes, if that means if people who care about their own welfare then SLATE their friends in a back-door caucus, I guess dick is right. Notice, she in her announcement she mentioned nothing about the shambles that Illinois is in nor that Rosemary Mulligan supported the DEMOCRAT last election. Provenzano, Tescky and the rest subvert the process by pretending to be Republicans for selfish reasons. How's 1-party rule in Illinois working out for us?? Again, Carol Tescky and most of the above people are NOT republicans. They are in it for pensions, favors and friends.
Park Ridge Taxpayer August 15, 2013 at 03:52 PM
AV, totally agree...but it's still a democratic process. Elections were organized. Parties put up their candidates. Ballots were printed. Voting was free and fair. You and I and our neighbors are the idiots for allowing it to go on like this. I actually agree with Dick Barton; it would be interesting to show up at some Maine Township governments and see what they actually do in plain sight.
