Presence Center for Health Grand Opening Event Invites Local Community to Get Healthy & Have Fun

Presence Center for Health—a new leading edge outpatient health care facility with some of the most advanced technology in all of Chicago’s suburbs—will invite hundreds of local residents out for an afternoon of free activities and health screenings on Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 1 – 4 p.m., at 205 S. Northwest Hwy., in Park Ridge to celebrate its grand opening.

The new Presence Center of Health is the first neighborhood center opening since Provena and Resurrection Health Care joined together in November 2011. It is one of only two health care facilities in Northern Illinois that offers some of the very latest in imaging technology, including low dose radiation 64 slice CT scans and X-rays, and a wide bore MRI. The frequency and amount of radiation patients receive is of such importance that on May 9, 2012, the FDA took steps to urge a lower dose of radiation for children when undergoing medical scans.

During the grand-opening event, families can “Ask a Doctor” about any medical-related concerns they have and receive a free body mass index health screening. There will be a healthy snack station and an interactive germ-glow station to help kids understand the importance of hand washing.

Families won’t want to miss exploring a fire truck or the many prizes that will be raffled off during the afternoon.

“In addition to wanting the community to know we’re here for them, we want to inspire good health. We want to help families become more health conscious by learning more about their condition, or preventing illness, while having fun doing it,” said John Evans, Family Physician, Resurrection Medical Group. “In short, we want them to know we’re invested in their good health, that they are at the center of everything we do.”

The new 30,000 square foot facility features a broad range of services under one roof, including a low dose radiation Advanced Imaging Center, Immediate Care Center, Occupational health services, and extended hours for internal and family medicine.
