Heat Wave: Temps To Reach 100 to 105

Temperatures are expected to reach dangerous levels Thursday and Friday with the National Weather Service predicting a high of between 100 and 105.

The excessive heat warning will remain in effect until 10 p.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service warns that heat indices – how hot it feels outside because of factors such as humidity – will reach between 107 and 113 Thursday and Friday.

"The long duration of this heat wave combined with no relief from the oppressive condidtions at night will prove particularly taxing to anyone without access to air conditioning," the National Weather Service states.

"Persons without air conditioning...especially the sick and elderly who are more susceptible to heat effects should spend at least several hours each day in air conditioning to help reduce the accumulative effect and toll the heat will take...," the National Weather Service states.
