Park Ridge residents on Thursday showed up to the the three-day Taste of Park Ridge to sample food from the city's restaurants.
About 25 restaurants handed out food to those who braved the summer heat near the corner of Summit and Prospect avenues.
Residents tried a variety of food, including ribs, crepes, chocolate-covered strawberries, pizza, egg rolls and ice cream.
The Cream of the Crepe, a new vendor this year, sold about 20 crepes by 4 p.m. Nutella crepes turned out to be the No. 1 seller among those who sampled some of the restaurant's most popular crepes, said Becky Golyzniak with Cream of the Crepe.
"So far, the day has been going really well," Golyzniak said. "This is supposed to be the slowest day, so things are really going to pick up this weekend."
At the same time, the city's annual near the Taste was selling merchandise at heavily-reduced prices. The lasts through Sunday.
