Park Ridge Police: Man Who Stabbed Cabbie Charged

A Chicago man, who police said stabbed a cab driver in Park Ridge, was charged with armed robbery on Aug. 28.

A 23-year-old Chicago man was charged with armed robbery, a class-X felony, after he allegedly stabbed a cab driver.

Antonio C. Olivier is alleged around 9:30 p.m.

Olivier directed the cab driver to an unlit street claiming that he needed to speak to his family. When the driver pulled over, Oliver then proceeded to stab the man in the head and stomach, police said. Olivier then took $65 from the cab driver and fled the scene.

The victim was later transported to Lutheran General Hospital for his injuries.

Olivier was arrested without incident near his home in the 7300 block of North Seeley Avenue, Chicago, by Chicago's 24th District Police Department after Park Ridge police passed along a tip regarding the robbery.

Olivier was scheduled to be in court for a bond hearing Thursday.
