Park Ridge Officer Helped Save Man's Life

Information submitted by the Park Ridge Police Department.

Park Ridge Police Officer Kenneth King responded to a report of a person down near Touhy Avenue and Wisner Street at approximately 11:39 p.m. on Aug. 2.

King found a 62-year-old man face down on the sidewalk and unresponsive. King noted the man was not breathing and had no pulse. After a brief assessment, Officer King immediately began rendering first aid, including CPR. His efforts were successful and he was able to establish shallow breathing and a weak pulse.

The Park Ridge Fire Department soon responded and continued to render aid and transported the victim to the hospital where he, ultimately, made a full recovery. If not for Officer King’s training, experience and compassion for a fellow human being in trouble, the outcome could have been tragic.
