Homeowner Stumbles Upon Burglars
A man in the 700 block of Chester Avenue heard his dogs barking at 12:40 p.m. May 28. He went inside his house and went to the rear of the home.
He saw a male, white teenager in a bedroom and two other male, white teenagers in the hallway. All three ran out of the house when they saw the homeowner. The teenagers were wearing black masks and hoodies.
Attempted Burglary
Someone attempted to open a storm window of a home in the 1700 block of S. Crescent Avenue sometime between 6 p.m. May 2 and 12:30 p.m. May 26.
Bike Stolen
Someone entered an unlocked garage in the 900 block of Garden Street and took a Mongoose bicycle sometime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. May 25.
Ford Focus Burglarized
Money, a kindle, a wallet, gift cards and a driver's license were taken from an unlocked Ford Focus in the 300 block of S. Clifton Street sometime between May 23 and May 24.
iTouch, Other Items Taken
An iTouch, money, an iPhone charger, an insurance card and a registration card were taken from an unlocked 2005 Dodge Magnum in the 500 block of N. Dee Road sometime between May 23 and May 24.
Cologne Snagged
Someone used unknown means to enter a 2008 Nissan Altima in a parking lot in the 1400 block of W. Touhy Avenue sometime between May 23 and May 24. Taken was a wallet, money, driver's license, credit card and a bottle of cologne. An unknown charge was made in Park Ridge and an attempt to use the card in another jurisdiction was made.
