Park Ridge Police Issue 105 Tickets, Make Arrests, During Traffic Campaign

The following information was provided by the Park Ridge Police Department.

The Park Ridge Police Department stepped up patrols during the Labor Day Holiday.

Park Ridge participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation's Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program. The department used grant funding to increase the number of officers on duty from Aug. 17 to Sept. 3.

"The additional officers were assigned each day for the purpose of enforcing violations of the Illinois Primary Seatbelt law, Illinois Child Passenger Protection Act, speeding violations and DUI’s," a Park Ridge press release states.

The results of the campaign were:

  • One DUI arrest
  • One suspended/revoked license arrest
  • 47 speeding tickets
  • 20 other citations

Park Ridge and Niles also conducted a roadside safety check area near Greenwood and Dempster on Aug. 31:
