Park Ridge Police Land Traffic Safety Award

The Park Ridge Police Department was recently recognized as a national leader in traffic safety.

The Park Ridge Police Department finished in third place for national traffic safety in their size-class. The department released a press release today announcing the accomplishment.

The prize?

Traffic safety software valued at $1,400 and recognition as being a leader in traffic safety, the press release said. In 2005, the department was awarded with the Clayton J. Hall Memorial Award for the most comprehensive traffic safety program in the country.

The nationwide contest was part of the National Law Enforcement Challenge and Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge. The Illinois program, sponsored in part by the Illinois Department of Transportation, is coordinated by the Illinois Chiefs of Police and is open to all Illinois law enforcement agencies.
