Pedestrian Killed By Metra Train In Park Ridge

The person was on the track between the Park Ridge and Dee Road stations.


A pedestrian died Tuesday after being struck by a Metra train, about halfway between the Park Ridge and Dee Road stations on the Union Pacific Northwest line, chicago.cbslocal.com reported.

Patch.com had earlier reported both inbound and outbound trains were halted at or around the Dee Road station, which is at Oakton Street, Dee Road and Busse Highway in northern Park Ridge, due to a pedestrian incident.

Trains were delayed about three hours.

Metra canceled Train #649, scheduled to depart Chicago at 5:47pm and arrive at Crystal Lake at 7:20pm, Train #653, scheduled to depart Chicago at 6:25pm and arrive in Harvard at 8:06pm and Train #660, scheduled to depart Crystal Lake at 8:00pm and arrive in Chicago at 9:23pm. However, Trains #651 and 655, scheduled to arrive in Crystal Lake at 7:08pm and 7:58pm, did operate.
