Park Ridge: Why You Should Shop Local This Holiday Season

The City of Park Ridge is encouraging residents to shop local this holiday season and offers sound reasons on why you should.

Did you know that a 5 percent increase in sales tax revenue could translate into 52,000 square feet of new sidewalk or 13 blocks of roadway resurfacing? How about 12 new squad cars or an additional 850 trees planted in Park Ridge?

All that data is coming from Park Ridge's website, and the city is encouraging residents to shop local this holiday season. According to the website, for every $100 spent at a local business up to $68 remians in the community's economy.
