Uptown Street Signs Confusing, Mayor Says

Mayor David Schmidt says new street signs in Park Ridge are doing more to confuse drivers than to help them.

Park Ridge Mayor David Schmidt says the new signs on traffic poles in Uptown are confusing, reports the Bugle. The signs are at the six-corner intersection of Prospect and Touhy Avenues, and Northwest Highway in Park Ridge. Schmidt says the intersection was better before the signs, since they are pointing in different ways confusing drivers.

The arrows on the signs are meant to lead drivers to specific streets. But Schmidt believes they are probably leading them instead in the wrong direction. He notified the Illinois Department of Transportation, which is now looking into the issue.
