Senior Center Law Suits Finally Resolved

Post from Rick Biagi on the settlement of law suits involving in the Senior Center.

I'm very happy to have put this behind us finally.  Onward and upward for the Park Ridge Recreation and Park District and for the thousands of seniors in Park Ridge.

However, Candidates Vile, Philips and Bende want to undo the hard work that this Park Board has done by resurrecting the relationship with Senior Services and handing over control of the taxpayer owned facility to an outside board that has no accountability to the taxpayers.  That is precisely what led to a $1.7 Million loss to the taxpayers of Park Ridge over a 10 year period.  To make matters worse, Candidate Philips say today that he will fire Executive Director Mountcastle on day one after he takes office and current Commissioner Vile says that he will seek monetary "reparations" for the aggrieved seniors...all this after the Park District waived its claim to nearly $350,000 in monies left by a generous benefactor to the "Park Ridge Senior Center."  These three candidates will put the interests of the seniors above all others in town...that could lead to a reversal of the popular Centennial Pool project, possible Youth Campus acquistiion and a degredation of services to families of school aged children in Park Ridge.

Please remember to vote BIAGI, HUNST and BRANDT on April 9th if you want to have a Park District Board that represents ALL 38,000 citizens of Park Ridge.
