Dist. 207 Superintendent Gets 5-Year Contract, Raise

Supt. Ken Wallace will also be eligible for bonuses if he meets certain goals, according to the Journal & Topics.

The Maine Township High School District 207 board has given Superintendent Ken Wallace a five-year contract extension, according to the Journal & Topics.

Wallace, who began with the district in 2009, will get a salary bump from $206,916 this year to $210,000 in 2014, with 1.5% raises in subsequent years, the paper said.

He also gets a monthly transportation allowance, and is eligible for bonuses if the district meets certain goals set by the board.

Wallace became superintendent in 2009, and almost immediately faced a financial crisis, which led to the layoffs of 137 employees in the district, which has three schools: Maine South, Maine East and Maine West.
