Walmart Recalls Baby Doll Over Burn Fears
The company is recalling 174,000 My Sweet Love / My Sweet Baby electronic baby dolls that were sold in Walmart stores nationwide from August 2012 through March 2014.
Walmart has recalled 174,000 My Sweet/My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Baby Dolls because they can overheat and burn children, USA Today reported.
The doll coughs and its cheeks turn red. It has a circuit board in its chest that can overheat, USA Today reported. Wal-Mart got 12 reports regarding the doll including two in which the doll caused burns.
The company, in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling all of the 174,000 My Sweet Love / My Sweet Baby electronic baby dolls that were sold for $20 in Walmart stores nationwide from August 2012 through March 2014, a press release from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection states.
Consumers should remove these dolls immediately from the reach of children, remove the batteries and return the doll to any Walmart store for a full refund.
The doll is identified by UPC 6-04576-16800-5 and a date code which begins with WM. The date code is printed on the stuffed article label sewn into the bottom of the doll, the press release states.
