9-Year-Old Fighting Rare Disease Gets Visit From Horses

Kira Mammoser was given the chance to visit with horses in the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital parking lot, the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate reports.

a 9-year-old battling a rare disease at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital got a special visit from the Chicago Police Department’s Mounted Unit, the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate reports. Kira Mammoser is fighting Rapid-onset Obesity, with Hypothalamic dysfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Dysregulation. Her father, a Chicago police officer, knew of her love of horses and arranged the visit. She was also given a My Little Pony stuffed animal and given some of her favorite foods by an area bakery, the newspaper reports.
