Girl Fighting Rare Disease Passes Away

Kira Mammoser, 9, passed away last week. She had been treated at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

A 9-year-old girl afflicted with a rare disease has passed away, the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate reports.
 
Kira Mammoser died May 29 after a long struggle with Rapid Onset Obesity with Hopothalamic Disfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Disregulation, according to the newspaper. A patient at Advocate Lutheran General, she was visited by the horses from the Chicago Police Department’s Mounted Unit last month. Mammoser’s funeral was held Monday in Norridge.
